Several years ago Rebound brought a play to Portsmouth called “Mum, Can You Lend Me Twenty Quid?” The play was very well received, and people were still talking about the impact it had on them all this time later.
Thanks to a grant from the Big Lottery Fund, we are pleased to be able to bring an updated production of the play back to Portsmouth. Performances will be held specifically for school students and their teachers, which will be followed by workshops and presentations to discuss the issues raised.
We are also delighted to be able to stage a performance, which will be open to the public. The play will be followed by a presentation by Det Sgt Matt Easton of Hampshire Police Drug Squad, who will talk about the problems presented by County Lines and Child Exploitation. A Rebound member will talk about her own experience of bereavement having lost a child due to drug addiction.
Tickets are FREE, and the show will be of particular interest to friends and family, teachers, health professionals and advisers. This performance is on Thursday 1st November, with doors opening at 6:00pm.
More details are available on the dedicated page on this website, and tickets can be booked through Eventbrite.
