Rebound meets on a Tuesday evening from 7.00 to 8.45 pm at the Carers Centre, Orchard Road, Southsea PO4 0AD.
We are a support group that offers a confidential, safe environment for anyone who is suffering the chaos and devastation of a loved one’s drug/alcohol misuse with others who are suffering in the same way.
Many of our members have been coming for a long time and are at different stages of the ‘enabling trap’. By meeting each week we support each other, share our experiences and help others to learn and understand the meaning of ‘boundaries’. We cannot offer any advice on how to change the addicted person’s behaviour, we can only offer help and advice to change our own, which eventually with patience, will reflect on their loved one’s decision to seek recovery.
We regularly invite speakers to the group, some who are in recovery, which gives us insight and hope for a positive outcome for those we care about.
We are a friendly and empathetic group. New members are welcome, no need for an appointment. We offer an initial 15-20 minutes one to one informal chat with an invitation to join the group where they can listen to others’ stories and contribute if they want. There is no pressure to join in.
If you have any queries or are unable to get to the group you can call us on our dedicated line
