With the rising numbers of deaths in Portsmouth though the overdose of opiates, Rebound invited Leigh Westmore and Martin Cook (Clinical Lead), both from Society of St James Recovery Hub, to give Rebound members a demonstration on the use of Naloxone, a drug which can save the life of someone who has overdosed on opiates.
The Hub are rolling out emergency packs of Naloxone to GPs, Pharmacies, Night Wardens and Carers in the City to alleviate the risk of untimely deaths.
The training was well presented, informative and hands on and even though it wasn’t relevant to all present, the members gave positive feedback about being aware of the dangers of overdose and the knowledge that lives can be saved.
Thank you Leigh and Martin.
