Our Family Fun Day at Compton Cricket Club on Sunday 20thJuly 2014 was a huge success.
Rebound members and their families enjoyed a lovely relaxing day in a beautiful, peaceful setting and managed to ‘switch off’ for the afternoon to enjoy a picnic and have some fun in the sun, there was even a chance to see some Red Kites (the bird variety) who regularly circle above.
Unfortunately there were a few very minor sports injuries as members got very competitive in the sports events that were on offer – rounders, golf-ball and spoon races, welly throwing and putting – I think many suffered a few rope burn marks after the equally competitive tug of war! This made for a very enjoyable day and we even let the children join in! After all it WAS meant for them! They were impeccably well behaved (though most of the adults spent the afternoon dodging the water-pistols)! We had a prize-giving ceremony and a Raffle to raise money for our funds and everyone went home tired and exhausted and hopefully relaxed!
Thanks to Gilbert and Liz and the Compton Cricket Club who let us use their fantastic cricket ground and pavilion for a much needed fun event and Jan for baking her wonderful cakes to help us raise some money for our funds.
